Yeah, swen hit and suddenly Usenet went practically spam-free. I like
it. Maybe the spammers are getting hit too hard by a taste of their
own medicine to spam on Usenet anymore. One can only hope.

The internet is more communist than anarchist, really; though neither
communism nor anarchy has a central authority or government.
Communism implies self-regulation in which each person participates
more or less cooperatively, anarchy is a bit more selfish (I'll do
what I want, everybody else be damned). Communism's self-regulation
system has mostly worked for the Internet since it's creation, I'd
rather not see that change now. It's a system that works well, just
not when basic needs of living are involved (which is why communism
doesn't work in real life on a scale larger than a commune, and there
has never been a truly communist country).
