A little more precisely.

Someone subbed to PLUG has a "verify only" spam filter on his account.

The filter will not allow people who have not verified send mail.

PLUG mail has not verified since it is sent from people, or plug-admin.

So PLUG will never be verified.

Of course the question is why did someone set this up and not white list
his mail lists....  But this is what happens.

It does not work for a bunch of other reasons too, like why should I
jump through *your* hoops.

For a private email address that gets mail from few, known people, who
have the stronger desire to talk to you, than to tell you to f' off, it
works.
