Scriptics, the company Ousterhout form to support Tcl/Tk, went out of
business a year or more ago. The death of Scriptics is by no means an
end to the language, but there just isn't a lot of talk about it and I
don't know of anyone actually learning it or using it actively.

Tk itself has problems, due to the lack of Unicode support; not to
mention the grumbling all around about it being a poor API and slow.

I don't follow the Python lists closely, but I do recall reading a
discussion about moving the default Python GUI library to wxWindows.

I have; well, I used the Glade interface. I haven't really done much
GUI development, so I didn't get very far in the 8-16 hours I played
with it. I do know PyGTK is the preferred toolkit by Red Hat; it's used
by the GUI admin tools and Anaconda.
