It should, it is heavily based on Debian.

I've found it to be more of a bitch to convince a harddrive install of
Knoppix to update/install Debian packages than to just install Debian. 
It isn't that hard, just follow the instructions, by the ninth or tenth
time you'll think it is easy.  Then you'll be installing it on
everything you can get your hands on.
