I have had different problems with a Belkin 4-port KVM. The one I bought
for home gets it's power off of the keyboard line and screws up
constantly. The cap-lock comes on and won't go off. Sometimes it gets into
a control-lock situation where everything typed goes in as a control
character. The OS also complains a lot about keyboard errors. The one I
have at work - which has it's own power supply - works fine.

If your KVM does not have a powersupply, then I would bet that it is the
problem. This was just a bad idea.
