Yikes!  Why?  The tourists killed it.  It's like Aspen but worse.  If
you want a really neat mountain town, try Lake Louise, AB.  Alberta
has something in common with Oregon, too:  No PST.  You still have to
pay GST, but 7% beats the combined 14% you get in BC.

Edmonton's nice.  It's getting nice and warm without getting hot.  Too
bad rail fare over the continental divide is so expensive.  Though
with gas prices being what they are north of the border right now
(averaging the equivalent of US$2.18/US gallon[1]), it could be
cheaper to hop on VIARail...


[1] I've seen gas sold in CAN$/liter and CAN$/British gallon in Canada.
