Take a look at mediawiki (I'm running one at ciscavate.org, with the
login setup you describe--feel free to play with it.) This is also the
wiki software behind wikipedia. It is php based, but I think you'll
find php easy to deal with, if you ever need to get into the depts of
mediwiki source.
I can't stop saying good things about it, so I'll just stop talking :)
