The Cocos Islands is one of those tiny countries that decided to
capitalize on having its own gTLD during the Internet Gold Rush, as did
Tuvalu (.tv), Tongo (.to) and Micronesia (.fm), because as gTLDs they made
a bit of sense (to English speakers, at least). I was, of course, too
late in trying to register to get the .com, .net, and .org.
