Sorry to involve @#$%^&* Microsoft stuff but my searches are getting
me nowhere and it does involve Linux. I have several Linux servers that
connect to Win2K box(s) at random times (nothing really scheduled) and
every time I see lines like these.
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[28405]: [2004/12/13 15:02:30, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(725)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[28405]: tdb(/var/cache/samba/gencache.tdb): tdb_lock failed on list 66 ltype=0 (Bad file descriptor)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[28405]: [2004/12/13 15:02:30, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(725)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[28405]: tdb(/var/cache/samba/gencache.tdb): tdb_lock failed on list 66 ltype=1 (Bad file descriptor)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[28405]: [2004/12/13 15:02:30, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(725)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[28405]: tdb(/var/cache/samba/gencache.tdb): tdb_lock failed on list 66 ltype=1 (Bad file descriptor)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 kernel: SMB connection re-established (-5)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[7521]: [2004/12/13 15:02:30, 0] client/smbmount. c:send_fs_socket(406)
Dec 13 15:02:30 mx1 mount.smbfs[7521]: mount.smbfs: entering daemon mode for service \\host.example.com\imail, pid=7521
but the mount (mostly -- there have been a few hickups) works OK. I
really hate messages I don't understand. Has anyone seen similar?
Thanks for any pointers of clues,
Rod
