Did you go check out bugmenot?  That's exactly the problem it solves,
you don't have to log in, it logs in some made up user for you.  Yeah,
it's still obnoxious that you even have to make the extra effort to
get bugmenot, but if you are that adamant about not logging in, there
are plenty of news sites that don't require a login.
