Another reason:  "Message Preview" view, which lists messages with a
snippet of the beginning of the message below the subject.  I've had
Outbreak users complain to me that my reponses had their quoted text
in the Preview instead of my response, because it's at the top.

Of course not.  They were too busy waiting for you to get a clue from
*their* example.  In my more paranoid moments, I believe there's a
secret BillyWare strategy to isolate its users from the competition by
constantly widening the communication gap between them and everyone
else.
