[PLUG] More SCSI woes.

I replaced an aged Adaptec 2940 card with a newer 2940 card. The old one
was AHA-2940UW and the new one is AHA-2940U2W.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte somethin' or other with a Via Apollo Pro133
chipset (VT82C693A/694x).

When I boot with the new card, the SCSI bios comes up alright, but as soon
as that screen ends, when control should go back to the system bios for
booting the IDE disks (the SCSI controller just has CD/DVD devices on it),
there is a continuous beep and nothing happens.

No idea where to even begin.

I REALLY want to use this new card.

Anyone?

J.
