My complaints with PCC, why they will never see another dime of my
money and why I have started voting against anything they put on the
ballot:

1) Tuition exceeds Portland State. I'm closer to PSU than some PSU
dorms. Why drive if I don't have to?

2) Inadequate teaching staff. Taking calculus in an overcrowded class
in which the entire class and the teacher getting increasingly
frustrated with each other because the teacher barely speaks
English with a thick east-Indian accent that nobody understands
isn't something anybody should have to pay for.

3) Abrasive personalities working the offices. Seriously, the people
who we have to deal with over the administrivia of getting a
locker, enrolling, and paying tuition to should at least be
friendly. The counselors that help you pick classes could be way,
way less patronizing as well. If anybody outside the teaching and
custodial staff at PCC is friendly, they're carefully hidden away,
leaving only the most abusive, obnoxious, rude assholes dealing (I
almost said "working," but that would imply they do more than get
in the way) with the public.

This isn't something funding can fix. This is what a real hiring
policy and *serious* organizational restructuring needs to fix. Too
many cooks spoil the stew, PCC is a great example. And you know it's
truly bad when *I* start sounding like a Republican.

Oy, I hope you find a job at a better school.
