Evan,

I tried Promethius-UML but now I'm using the Eclipse Modeling Framework
(EMF) <http://www.eclipse.org/emf/>. Eclipse is a really great IDE that
supports almost everythig (and is even larger than emacs as a result!). I
can also strongly recommend the Clay database designer from Azzurri in Japan
<http://www.azzurri.jp/>, I believe it is.

If you code in Java or C(++?) eclipse is a very good tool to use. It's
written in java and has a ton of plug-ins.
