Thanks, Sean. Since firestarted is designed for Gnome, but has
condescended to work with KDE, too, I suspect it would probably work with
Xfce. However, unless I mis-read something it's only a GUI front end to
netfilter/iptables. For a notebook running no services other than ssh and
mozilla that communicate with the outside world, I suspect that manual
diddling with the relevant iptables files will work quite well.
