[PLUG] rc startup script question

Hello:

I am running Fedora RC2 2.6.6 kernel.
It was my understanding (from other Unix flavors)
that when I want to add new stuff to be started at boot time,
I put in a script in /etc/init.d and then symlink
from /etc/rc<level>.d/

I just did, and symlink from /etc/rc3.d, /etc/rc2.d and /etc/rc4.d
And then to verify, I typed

    /etc/rc 3

and my stuff did get started.
So just did a reboot but none of my stuff was started...

Did I miss a step? Why is it that I ran /etc/rc and the stuff was started
but not when I power reboot the box?

thanks

--Vincent
