According to the folks at Emperor Linux, there are two cards that they
know work with linux and my Sony Vaio 505: an 802.11b Orinoco Gold ($100) by
Lucent and an 802.11b/g by 3Com (model not specified but they sell it for
$150). I know their prices are high for I bought additional RAM locally for
about 1/3rd of what they charge for it.
I've looked on pricewatch and ENU but cannot find a 3Com b/g card. What
local sources have folks here used (in addition to Belmont Computers), and
what HOWTO do I read to get it working when I find a card?
Thanks,
Rich
