[PLUG] Sunday Morning Kernel Build

I need to build ndiswrapper in order to use my wireless card. It in turn
wants a kernel at least as recent as 2.4.23 or 2.6.0.  I'm running
Fedora1 and they're  still at 2.4.22. It's unlikely that this  close to
Fedora2 they will produce a 2.4.23 kernel.  I would like to just make a
2.4.23 kernel, but I don't know anything about whether Fedora does
anything special to their kernels.

Can I just build a 2.4.23 kernel or will this conflict with the rest of
Fedora1?
