How, then, do you resolve the name of the fileserver?

I don't think it's a very good idea to have your network resolution depend
on network resolution.

Could you help us all out and use some kind of a mark to show that the
material in your post is quoted and not original?  It would be great (and
some say kind of necessary) to also cite the person you are quoting above
the quoted material.

[I found it kind of hard to tell what you'd written from what you were
quoting.]
