...and I would ignore him, but he just isn't a kook like I've ever
encountered before.  It's like he genuinely wishes to help and provide
to the community, he just isn't capable of providing anything useful and
gets easily distracted.

Maybe he's just the most elaborate troll I've yet met?  :-)

I hate letting bad information go, too.  The HCl from the heater duct
and 300 volt ethernet cables that'll kill you was just too far out there
to let drop.  Somebody who just wouldn't know any better could run into
that information and take it as gospel...  :-\
