I recently thought I take the plunge and upgrade from my aging PIII system
to a fancy new AMD Athlon 3200. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the
motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 rev 2.0) and the memory (2x Kingston
KVR400X64C25/512) to play together nicely.
When running single channel (64 bit memory path) Memtest86+ v1.11 runs
flawlessly, however as soon as I reconfigure for dual channel (128 bit
memory path) I start seeing errors. I've swapped both motherboard and
memory yet the problems persist.
I figure I have some options:
1) Reduce the memory bus frequency so it works
2) Try the expensive HyperX "matched" RAM
3) Try Crucial's CAS 3 RAM (vs 2.5 on Kingston's, maybe slower timings
help?)
Has anyone else had issues with their nForce2 boards running dual channel?
What did you do to solve the problem?

PS: I plan to use this box for Xvid encoding so I'd like to squeeze every
ounce of performance out of it. ;-)
