: ISO-9000 is a set of quality management standards. It is process-based,
: not product-based. So, yes, ISO-9000 could be used for pizza production.

The funny thing about -9000, compared to -9001, -9002 or QS-9000 (automotive)
is that ALL it really does is say 'write your quality plan down, and show
inspectors that you are following your written plan.' There is NO requirement
for process improvement (unless you write that in.)

I was at a 9000-certified stamping plant where the process boiled down to
'stuff whatever crap that comes out of the final machine into boxes, and ship
the closed boxes to customers.' No verifications on how accurately the
machines were producing, (such as CPK.)

So, 'throw stuff on the dough, bake it and call it a pizza.'
