I wondered that a while ago, and asked Google.  It found some
mailing-list messages that said why, and a webpage or two that pointed
to an alternative that cost $28.  I don't remember where they are, but
ya know, you could Google for them...

Nope.

PBX means Private Branch Exchange.  Practically, it's something you plug
phones into so they can dial each other, or dial out to real phone
numbers.  In other words, the typical sort of phone switch system you'd
find in an office.

Ya know, I really shouldn't enable your habit of wasting people's time
instead of looking up stuff yourself.
