That doesn't work.  You can work through the menu system 
  System Settings -> Security Level 

and the GUI applet will let you reconfigure the firewall.

While you're mucking about in there
  System Settings -> Server Settings -> Services 
is a GUI config replacement for the chkconfig commands I suggested earlier.
You may be more comfortable with that, and it's a "click on or off" way
to go through all of the available services on your system.
