In regards to comcast issues ....

I have had comcast for over 8 years now, and several times have had issues just you explain.

Chances are they need to replace a filter (more people or services were added to the node) or something has gone wrong on their node (like some one crashing into a junction box). Call comcast .... takes for ever for them to show .... but when cable modems run correctly they should never have to be rebooted or loose connection. I get a steady 6000 Kbs in my house :o).

Regards,
