Context would be helpful.
"eggdrop" software is a bot program for irc.
"egg" is an interpreter for the language in Dijkstra's Discipline of
Computer Programming.
"libegg" is a Gnome library.
There are other contexts where "egg" is used, but that seems to be the
three main ones. (There is also used to be an eggcups thingie for cups
printer software, but I may be hallucinating.)
