See Pluggers, mixed marriages can work! Even Red Hat/Debian marriages.
Debian users can have 'make menuconfig' or 'make xconfig' just like the other
Linuxes. 'make config' is for masochists. There are some Debian-specific
kernel-building utilities that are quite nice; somewhere in the docs on
http://www.debian.org/doc/ is a howto or two.
One issue I recall reading about with the 2.6 kernel is problems with
cdrecord; dunno if those are resolved yet.
