(Assuming I'm not already.) Anyhow, I'm currently
using Sarge. But it's not in a production environment,
and I'd like access to the full range of software.
Moreover, I have a complete backup of the Sarge
installation and could recover from "bare metal."

If you go the apt-get route to upgrade to Sid, about
how long does it take?
