[PLUG] Another good experience with Pacific Solutions

Some of you will recall my ongoing saga of finding a keyboard with the right
touch for my wife. Yesterday, she finally couldn't take it any longer, so we
went over to Pacific Solutions to see what they had.

Linda was running the store, as she often is, and plugged in several different
brands of keyboard for my wife to try out. None of them were satisfactory,
for one reason or another. Then, Linda recommended trying the keyboard she
had plugged into her POS computer. While not as wonderful as the old Wyse
keyboards my wife loves, that Kensington brand keyboard was acceptable.

As it happens, that unit came in a box of product samples Pacific Solutions
got from Kensington, so there wasn't a new one in a box. Not to worry,
though. Linda happily sold us her "broken in" keyboard.

So, add this to the growing list of good experiences with that establishment.

Personally, while I can tell the difference between keyboards, it doesn't
matter that much to me. However, my wife was able to shave 1/2 hour from a 2
hour transcription project once she had this new keyboard installed.

I haven't given up on the Wyse, yet. A friend of mine designs embedded
circuits, and has offered to have me bring one over some day, so we can find
out what thing puts out. Then, maybe we'll be able to design a small circuit
to go between the Wyse keyboard and a PS/2 port. Maybe I'll be able to get
one working for an anniversary present (March), but more likely I'll just
manage to get it done for Christmas!
