Paul and others,
    Thank you very much.
This is exactly the advice I needed. I want to add that so far my nfs
mounts seem to be working super. In the past (ie. 1994-99) nfs on Linux
was good, because it worked better than any other PC based nfs
software I tryed including Windows based nfs software and nfs on
SCO Unix and a couple other proprietary PC Unix OSs. However,
nfs on Linux was ever so slow compared with nfs on SunOS or Solaris
or Irix or AIX or ... Altho, I have done and probably won't do
any benchmarking of my set up, it feels fast and reliable.
So far, everything seems great.

                                          Sincerely,
                                          David Mandel
