Russell,
PLUG should attend OSCON. However, we aren't signed up at this point.
In the past, we have gotten a booth at various conferences and shared it
with other Open Source Groups in Oregon like Biznix and BLUE and Clark
College LUG and the mid-Willamette Valley Linux Users Group and the Eugene
Linux Users Group, and the Bend LUG, and who ever wanted to come.
PDXLUG has usually had their own booth, and I think they are signed up
with OSCON this year.
(Washingtonians - Sorry, I annexed Clark College into Oregon. We Oregonians
do tend to do that.)
In any case, PLUG should have a booth.
I'm busy with OSU and LinuxFund and life in general.
Would someone like to volunteer to coordinate things?
(Russell, did I hear volunteer?)
If so, we need to contact Andrew Calvo <andrew at oreilly.com> (707-827-7176)
about getting a booth and we need to start scheduling volunteers and
planning our very very simple booth. As for me, I will see if I can find
PLUG's banner, and I will post an invitation to the Mid-Willamette Valley
LUG and the Eugene LUG and see about contacting the Bend LUG. I believe
Ed Sawicki (Biznix) and Marvin Kosmal (CLUG) read this list, so they
will know about it. Also time permitting (seems unlikely), I will try
to update my "Linux in Oregon" flyer and get some of the printed.
Sincerely,
David Mandel
