[PLUG] SuSE 9.3 Install - "Searching for info file..."

It has occurred to me to wonder if my problem might be with the media
I'm using (CD-R's from Office Max on sale over a year ago), and I'm
wondering how to check the quality of the burned image.

Is there a way to run md5sum on the burned image? I ran md5sum on each
of the downloaded image files for the SuSE 9.3 CD set and got a match
against the numbers provided, each time. If md5sum can be run on the
burned CD, how would I do it -- what do I call the "file" I want it to
check? For example, md5sum SUSE-9.3-Prof-i386-CD1.iso is what I typed to
check the file before burning. But, md5sum /media/cdrom results in:
md5sum: /media/cdrom: Is a directory

Do I need to mount the CD differently? This is what mount reports:

/dev/hdc on /media/cdrom type subfs
(ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,procuid,unhide,iocharset=utf8)

Thanks for any ideas.
