Yes.

K3B is the only program that causes the hang. Normally, the machine is 
up for weeks, and would be longer if I didn't need to burn something.

A valid point, but it wasn't too long ago that I had the box open and 
checked for those things. It wasn't too bad, and I took out a couple of 
dust bunnies.

Or possibly one that is just cheap. I've had this one, purchased for 
about $35, for about a year (+/- a couple of months). I have had other 
occasions where a CD I burned on it was not readable on one other 
machine, and yet was readable on several other machines. Burning longer 
was recommended, and that's what I'm going to try next.
