Yup. And that's why I pay US$900 a month for health coverage here and
will pay US$80 up in Canada. And US$1250 per year for my motorcycle
(with NO accidents) and will pay about US$100 up there.

Allowing private industry to take on a monopoly position is why taxes
are SO much higher here than they are there - the difference is that I
have to pay taxes to corporations whose primary interest is profit here
(ever consider driving without insurance?), while there I get to pay
taxes to the guvmint.

When our version of State Monopoly Capitalism (described so well by Karl
Marx about 120 years ago) is compared with a mixed economy like
Canada's, it always comes out looking pretty lame. So we have folks like
Gush Windbag telling us, "But that's SOCIALISM, folks!" And I answer:

"Alright! Give me more socialism!"
