Are you loading the ide-scsi module after bootup?

Though really, IDE-SCSI is basically broken in 2.6.

You can simply tell CDRecord that the device is e.g. /dev/hdd and it
should work.  Remove the IDE-SCSI entries from Grub before you do
that, though.
