Aaron,

   I've probably missed something in my understanding of CUPS, but jobs here
still go through the print spool on the server. That's where the job
management occurs. Sometimes -- particularly in the evening or when the
ctrl-p chord is struck in error -- the jobs are queued because the printer is
turned off. When I next fire it up out they come.
