[PLUG] Open Office Spreadsheet - Center across columns

In Excel, one may select several contiguous cells in a row and designate that 
the content of the first cell be centered across all of those cells. A useful 
purpose for this is when one has two rows of header information and groups 
parts of the second row with a title in one cell of the first row.

Example:

------------------------------------
|                       Miles                     |
------------------------------------
|     In        |      Out     |     Total    |
------------------------------------
|                |                |                 |

Is there a way to do this in Open Office's spreadsheet?
