[PLUG] Suse 9.3 from Fry's

OK, I mentioned earlier that I bought Suse 9.3 from Fry's at a sale
price of $69.99, which is less than I can get it academic. So
tonight I had some free time and I opened the box. There is a
CD/DVD case that contains the CDs and DVD. A tape across the
opening says "by breaking the seal you accept the Novell Upgrade
Protection Terms at www.suse.de.maintenance/agb_int.

So I browse my way to www.suse.de.maintenance/agb_int, only to
find a multipage legal document. After reading it I find that it
disclaims all the benefits described on the package. E.g., the
outside of the box says I am entitled to 90 days of free installation
support. The legal document says I am entitled to no support of
any kind. Yeah, yeah, I could sue them under some consumer
protection law and claim that the advertised benefit takes
precedence over the legal document. Horse pucky. Maybe so, but
life is too short to deal with that kind of BS.

So later I will return the box to Fry's for a refund. If I can't count on
support from Suse, then I might as well just download the free
version.
