This is as far as I  got..

edit /etc/named.conf

fetch copy of named.root put it in /var/named

Create zone files: zone.localhost, revp.127.0.0,  zone.net.mydomain, 
revp.aa.bb.cc.dd
I put these in /var/named  <page 517 in book>

Then on page 518  She says user syntax-checker recipe 24.17

run

named-checkconf named.conf

<caught some error        worked great!!>

named-checkzone  mydomain.net   /var/named/db.zone.net.mydomain

this fails

and what is /var/named/db.zone.net.mydomain??????
