mplayer is in multiple packages.  You need to upgrade both at the same
time.  Either uninstall mplayer and mplayer-fonts and then install the
one or get the updated mplayer-fonts program and install both at once.

Yum will do that depandancy checking for you if you are using a
repository that has mplayer in it. (Like freshrpms.net.)
