I was going to post about the Mandriva initrd problem on Mandriva's
web forums and other places. But before doing that I started surfing
around to see who else had 64-bit distros. In the process I
stumbled on a link to ATI Linux drivers. And guess what they
posted on May 17?

This sure as heck looks like the driver I need!

So this morning I decided to forget about Mandriva for the moment.
I knew I could get Suse 64-bit installed, so I just finished installing
it. It doesn't detect the wireless, but I'm pretty sure that can be
handled, with Linuxant if necessary. It also automatically finds my
ethernet and the cable modem. I get awfully tired of that green
lizard, but maybe later I can figure out how to install a more
pleasing desktop.

So right now it is on the above site. I'm going to download the driver
and see if I can figure out how to get YaST to install it.
