Bill,

   I may (once again) be totally incorrect, but most filesystems mount with
"user", not "username=guest". I wonder if the latter is a winduhs dialect
and the former a linux dialect.

   Here are two lines from /etc/fstab on this host:

/dev/cdrom       /mnt/cdrom       iso9660     noauto,users,ro  0   0
/dev/fd0         /mnt/floppy      auto        noauto,users     0   0
                                                      ^^^^^
