Mike,

   We've used jpilot on the desktop since Judd first released it years ago.
The connection is via pilot-link which should be part of every distribution.
Over the years I've sync'd a Palm Persona, Professional, III, m105,
Handspring Visor Pro, and Kyocera QCP-6035 with nary a problem. If the PDA
runs a Palm OS, pilot-link and jpilot work just fine. We use both serial and
USB connections.

   Sometimes you have to add the users to the group owning the port, or you
can change the port's owner to yourself if you're the only user.
