Red Hat does make a "30 day trial" edition of RHEL 4 available via
http://www.redhat.com/software/rhel/eval/ , which last I checked, does
include the binary RPMs on ISOs that you can burn and use for
installation. I think the 30 day limit is on the access period from the
RHEL 4 distro to the Red Hat Network.

They get away with it, because the GPL only requires them to release the
source code. Red Hat gets to do what they want with the binaries.

While folks like cAos (CentOS) and WhiteBox Linux have done an excellent
job with their rebuilds, they've had to use other tools (not included
with RHEL 4) to build the RHEL 4 SRPMs into their rebuild distributions.

Unfortunately, that means you can't mix and match some RPMs between RHEL
4 and the rebuilds, such as the Kernel source.

Thanks,
Mike
