Join us for a Qt Designer HOWTO presentation by Rob Wehrli!

Rob Wehrli will demonstrate using Qt Designer on GNU/Linux to produce
X
Window graphical user interface applications written in C++. Rob will
discuss some of the nuances and annoyances with using Qt Designer
(v3.3)
while showing how to build an application from start to finish. Note
that
this will not be a Qt API-related discussion! No prior Qt application
development exposure is required. Basic C/C++ skills are helpful,
though
not necessarily required. Slated for discussion are:

1: Qt Designer General Overview
-what is it?
-how do I get it?
-what can I do with it?
-what can't it do?

2: Using Qt Designer - Basics
-projects & project settings
-basic filesystem structure

3: Hello, World Qt Designer Style
-create a new C++ project
-add a Dialog to the project
-add some widgets to the Dialog
-previewing the GUI
-compile and run (with various styles)

4: Customizing Qt Designer
-fonts and syntax color coding
-templates

5: Questions and Answers (maybe, dumb looks are still free...)

Standard meeting rules apply.
