[PLUG] Questions on cron.daily Scripts and Log Files

This is starting out as a weird weekend. When I checked mail this morning
there were no messages reporting the status of the tape backup and the
summary of the mail log. These have been present daily for a very long time.
Nothing seems to have changed in /etc/cron.daily. However, the postfix
mail log summary script (/usr/local/bin/pflogsumm) will not run manually,
either. It cannot find the perl Date::Calc module, which does seem to have
gone missing. The error message is:
[root at salmo ~]# /usr/local/bin/pflogsumm
Can't locate Date/Calc.pm in @INC (@INC contains:
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at
/usr/local/bin/pflogsumm line 362.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/bin/pflogsumm line 362.
Why it should suddenly disappear I've no clue.
Then, when I check /var/log/, I find that all copies of cron, debug,
spooler, and syslog have 0 bytes. They rotate just fine, but no one's home.
Of course, it's a holiday weekend, but this is quite unexpected. If you
have suggestions what I should check, please let me know.
TIA,
Rich
