[PLUG] /dev/null for a login shell

I know you can use /dev/null as a login shell for user accounts for
restricted access - for example accounts that will allow a user to ftp to
a box.

However, can you use the mechanism for running binaries with a specific ID?
running the binary SUID or from a startup file that sudos to the ID in
question.
