[PLUG] befuddled again

I see some possibilities not mentioned so far (unless I missed it):

1. Something changed in the modem. I worked around my problem by 
removing the modem from the list of addresses in Linus and pointing 
primary and secondary addresses to the ISP.

2. The ISP changed something.
