All Saints School is a Pre-K through 8 Catholic school located in 
Northeast Portland. It has a network of about 75 computers, a 
combination of Windows clients, Windows and Linux servers, which are 
used for administration, education, and general office use. All Saints 
is planning to hire a part-time network support person to provide the 
following functions:
· Hardware and software troubleshooting (hardware repair not required)
· Hardware and software installation
· User and email account management
· Network support
· Linux web and file server management
· Assistance to teachers and staff in use of technology
· Printer queue configuration and management

Additional tasks that might be undertaken by this person, based on 
available time and skills, are:
· Web site design, maintenance and updates
· User training classes for teachers and staff
· Assistance with the All Saints Student Computer Club

Candidates for this position should have the following training and 
experience:
· Two or more years of help-desk and/or general network support
· Familiarity with Windows 2000/XP and Microsoft Office
· Familiarity with backup and restore procedures
· Familiarity with installing and configuring desktop applications such 
as anti-virus tools and email clients
· Familiarity with thin-client/server configuration and administration
· Experience with diagnosing common user problems (network problems, 
printing problems, changing passwords, etc.)
· Experience managing a Windows Network using Active Directory
· Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) Linux and Apache 
administration

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, particularly 
with non-technical users, and should be available for sixteen hours per 
week on a daytime schedule. This schedule will be arranged for mutual 
convenience, but must include time on-site at least two days per week 
between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
