Sorry for not doing it in Linux but I have had great success with a program
called BootIT NG.

download the iso.  burn to cd.  boot it.  hit esc to get past the
install screen.
Used the utilities to image from one drive to another.

This was the only program that would correctly move one of my office machines.
Four different versions of Ghost and two different versions of Drive
Image failed.
BootIT NG worked and re-sized the partition in the process.  No real
work on my part.
